The Memorial Program is designed for those dog owners facing end-of-life decisions who have no suitable alternative home, through friends or family, to provide for their surviving beloved pet-dog.
The knowledge that CRiSP will ensure a wonderful lifestyle for the pet-dog after the owner’s death is a huge comfort and emotional relief for everyone. The CBF will also accommodate the owner’s request for special handling of their precious pet-dog upon the dog’s demise.
Upon the owner’s demise, Residence Providers who previously provided home visitation, would now be encouraged to provide volunteer community services.
This would serve as a legacy memorial by offering emotional support visits to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, children's hospitals, rehabilitation centers and veteran facilities. The owner’s name would be spelled out on the pet-dogs jacket during visits to these facilities.
Sources for client dogs will be from estate attorneys and financial planners who have prepared, or are in the process of preparing, their clients’ estate plans.
This program serves dual purposes by accommodating the interests of the dog owner and continuing their legacy, while providing valuable community service.
Upon the demise of the pet-owner, CRiSP would appreciate a memorial remembrance funded endowment, bequest or pledge, from those capable, to assist in covering the cost for maintaining their pet-dog’s well-being during the remainder of its life.
